As Portugal remained neutral during the World War 2, Lisbon avoided the sad fate of many other European cities and managed to preserve the beautiful architecture of the pre-war era with ornate Art Nouveau and classy Art Deco facades. In those little temples of traditional commerce, you’ll find good quality, often custom-made Portuguese products, be they hats, umbrellas, ties or gloves.
